Radio Etiquette General Reminder

16 Aug 2024 by Adrian McCann

Hi Team,

Just wanted to put out a general reminder as to the way radios are used each day. Recently we have been noticing multiple occasions where radio calls are going unanswered for long periods of time, or not at all. Please remember it is your responsibility when you take a radio at the start of your shift that you use said radio in the correct manner, and that it is returned when you clock out.

1. Radios need to be On and Audible. At no point should your radio be off, or with volume at a level where it can not be heard.

2. Radios should be kept on your person at all times. It has been noticed that radios are being left either on desks or tables away from where staff are positioned. This presents an opportunity, not only for radio calls to be missed, but for radios to be forgotten all together. As such, please keep your radio clipped to you whilst you are working.

3. Ensuring you are on the correct channel. OBS and Check In remain on Channel 2, and FOH and Retail remain on Channel 1. Supervisors will remain on Channel 1 unless needed on Channel 2.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to myself or any of the leadership team.

Kind Regards,
Adrian
